Oh wow...political unrest in the comments!!! LOL You know, the USA may not be as free as it once was, but it's still (by far) the freest on this planet! No need to argue the point, everyone knows it's true. But anyways, more to the point --> It's a beautiful picture regardless of which flag was used.
Really nice shot (: and the model looks so tasty *-* But I also don't like the flag. Not because I hate the U.S.A. It's more because it doesn't fit in the atmosphare. And if anybody is telling me now I'm a Nazi then I'm goin' to punch the hell out of him. Only 'cause I'm from germany it doesn't mean I'm a fucking Nazi -___- thx for reading and understanding!
Nah, telling someone his country collaborated with nazis while he's most likely not even old enough to have any sort of connection to the second World War is not trolling. Americans are arrogant and most often intellectually challenged. But keep on saying God Bless the USA while you bomb countries back to the third world, murder innocents with drones and laugh at dead citizens while you piss on them. Americans are the filth of the world. Not to mention the fact that he said he didn't like the flag, and you start dragging in politics with a comment saying "How about you keep your politics out of art?"... Americans at their best.
Not every American is an arrogant, intellectually-challenged, warmongering buffoon. And your generalization of us as such...honestly, it puts you on a level no better than those arrogant, intellectually-challenged, warmongering buffoons. If you're going to assume you can make such a broad, sweeping generalization of an entire group of people, maybe you should check your own arrogance, intellectual limitations, and buffoonery at the door first.
The whole three-week delay? That timeframe doesn't do anything at all to change the fact that you're a flaming, arrogant, juvenile troll who'd rather attack people you know can't do anything to stop you. And yes, I'm American...but that's the only part of your assessment of me that's accurate. *sigh* I'm more aggravated, I think, at being baited into feeding a troll; there are so many better ways to spend my time.
Would you like me to talk about the crude methods of colonization by the Dutch staring in the 1600s? I don't disagree with any of you points about US's warmonging But you do prove my point that the rest of the world thinks their shit don't stink, and the fact you make generalization about Americans still shows your weak-minded and prone to angry unmitigated outburst... European at their best. See, I can generalize too. Doesn't take any skill.
There's no need to feel aggressive. Politics were only signified by your introduction. Perhaps the mixed responses to this piece allude to the fact that this art is controversial on some level--which in itself evokes a deeper message. Through this controversy the art speaks more messages than just an image, and becomes something more than itself. That is great art.
However we should not blame our peers for the events of our ancestors as we were not alive to experience or understand the context of those events. Like you I am of the USA, however our country seems to forget that our ancestors caused mass genocide of the native population (Native Americans), coerced their decedents into the beliefs and behaviors of our society, and concentrated them into sectors we deemed invaluable. But if we discuss the events of the second world war--we also had concentration camps--for our American Japanese.
We are not exempt from prejudice and it preserves our dignity to rise above it in action if we are unable to rise above it in character.
Except he could have phrase that in different ways. "I would have used a different flag," or "I like the model but the flag wasn't needed." Whether or not the US of A is really the land of the free isn't the point, the flag once represented it and in popular media, still does. He was being snobbish. If I'm wrong, I am wrong.
My ancestor didn't wipe the Natives out, nor would my family line condone the imprisonment of American Japanese. I'm third generation. Yes, the atrocities are still bad though, I won't deny that, only a fool would. But the world over has seem to forgotten that their shit stinks as well, with the exception of Germany with their anti-Nazi laws (not that anyone would let them anyways). I do the best I can to vote the New World Order/Military Industrial complex out of political office. Until the day we have to forcefully take them out, I don't forget what the US of A has become. Ever.
Yup. I'm made up of like, 6 different European heritages. Europeans are still mostly homogeneous in this respect. Of course, according to the chuckle-head above, we Americans are filth, so I guess that means my heritage is filth, hence Europe is filth too! It's like a circular logic of filth. Stereotyping is the practice of a weak mind.
He didn't said anythink about politics yet. No unnecessary hate, please!
Not liking a flag can have several reasons. I don't like the flag neither, but mainly because of the colors. However, I do not like flags with white on it, but for example sweden and the berber flag are nice to look at.
For the picture this flag is a good choice, because USA still present freedom. Even though it is questionable if it deserves this title.
